Advantages and Disadvantages Following are some of the advantages and disadvantages of restricting offender’s right post-conviction.AdvantagesA better man in the society now.Improved personality.Taken as an example of a man who served his sentence and becomes changed. If treated well in prison can become a source of telling about others who commit crimes.DisadvantagesHe or she Losses a right to become the elector and cannot vote as well. 35 states of America prohibits offenders tp not to cast a vote (Felony Disenfranchisement Laws in The United States, 2014).He or she Losses the right to have the firearm. He or she Losses the chances of getting any job (Laird, 2013).A felony is not eligible to be listed on US Armed forces. Some licenses and permits that felony has before the crime will not be entertained after becoming a felony (Legal Article). All the restriction that government imposes on felony reduces the chances of a felony to cope with the behavior of society and become a productive citizen. Limit on not giving a job to the offender is one of the most important restriction. After serving a sentence, one would try to look for survival in the society, if he or she will not get any job consequences will change as well. This could be possible that he or she will return to the same track of life on which he or she found guilt and put the lives of others in danger. I think this restriction should be eliminated. Other limits should stay restricted but provide job opportunity will be a step that will change the lives of the criminals.ReferencesLaird, L. (2013).
